Krzyzewski has surpassed his mentor and former coach, Bob Knight, with the 903rd victory of his career before a capacity crowd of 19,979 people.
The coach of the Blue Devils, Coach K called, has a record of 903-284 in 37 years in the NCAA. He has won with 73 Black Knights of Army in its first five seasons and 830 with the Blue Devils.
Knight was on hand to greet the feat of his former protégé. Several former players from the Blue Devils were also present, something made possible by the lockout in the NBA.

Knight, he won 902 games in 42 years with Army, Indiana and Texas Tech.
The two men each won a gold medal with Team USA at the Olympics. Knight won it in 1984 and Krzyzewski in 2008.
Krzyzewski also won four national championships and participated in 11 Final Four. He was elected to the Hall of Fame basketball in 2001.
