Open Question: In blogs and websites why do people type out their e-mail addresses like (name) at (provider) dot com?

Ive always wondered why so many people write on a blog or website, "my e-mail address is kristy at yahoo dot com" instead of just typing kristy@yahoo.com. Whats the reason for this??
