Open Question: I need help with my email, how can I get in it?!?

I had gmail. But since my boyfriend and I broke up I moved and finally just got internet. However, when I tired to log on to my email, the password was changed. SO I tried to the security question and that had changed also. SO my my ex boyfriend went in and changed the settings. However, I need to log into it because there are some very important email address's and documentations, I tried to recover the password, but everytime I do so I get the email back saying there was't enough information to verify my account. But I don't know what more they want!!! Please help."
