Open Question: Is it possible to have RAID 5, where the hard drives are in seperate places?

Basically a security measure that you would need a password to every hard drive to get all of the information correctly. So say you had one harddrive in the US, one in the UK, one in Paris and one in Japan. Would that work? Or do the drives have to be in the same computer / LAN?
